Fixed Gear grind up Kolob Terrace Road [Zion NP]

Although this ride was great, I had to back off because I didn't fill up with water in Virgin, Ut. Simple mistake but I didn't know if I could fill up at the Kolob Reservoir. I didn't want to take the chance... So, I'm going to leave earlier and try it with better preparations. Thus far all my rides in and around Zion have used a "forty-two X17" gearing. I've been using the Surly hub and dingle cog when on fire or BLM roads. I have yet to stop and move the chain form the 17t cog to the 20t cog. On this ride I had the Phil hub on with a 17t / 15t cogs [fixed-fixed flip flop] but was aggravated at turning around due not stopping in Virgin - thus I didn't flip over to the 15t cog. Instead working on my spin was the theme of the day as I enjoyed the ride and canyons.

I’ve uploaded the ride to Google Maps and Motion Based.

Sorry, I didn’t take any pictures from the ride but pictures from Kolob Terrace Road will follow shortly! Instead I have a few pictures form my ride on Wednesday and the cold weather the desert has been having.

Links to the La Verkin ride are here: Google Maps and Motion Based. This section on highway 9 is fantastic and was the access to Kolob Terrace Road as well.
