Kolob Terrace Road - Revisited

I don't know what it is about this ride but I really enjoyed beating myself up on it last weekend. As far as traffic[few and far between] and road quality it ranks as a nice road but add the views in, it is fantastic! Note 'Red Roads' are inside the park while gray roads are outside the park. Kolob Terrace Road [KTR] winds in and out of the Zion NP. Below are pictures from my second ride that took me to the end of the 'road'.... Yet, the pictures only tell a story of one tooth along the many many turns of the crank. Enjoy...
This was the first ride that I used the Dingle's 20t cog since I've been to Zion. Around town moving form a 42X17 to the 42X20 makes pulling the B.O.B. feel like taking a nap... Still, I know that I couldn't have pulled the B.O.B. up this with camping gear and supplies for the weekend. Even with the 42X20, I struggled up the grades. Maybe a 36 chainring is in order... or needs to be ordered.

I went through 4 water bottles on the ride up KTR and still felt lacking as I road back into Virgin[at the mouth of the KTR]. The only place to "fill up" in Virgin is a RV park [mobile retirement homes] with a rather large convenience store. Of special note, they are open on Sundays! and are happy to have bicyclists stop by.

I’ve uploaded the ride to Google Maps and Motion Based.

Ending it all with Dinner at Sol Foods.... and a full moon ride home.
