I had to!
It's hilarious to have a mascot at a service station/gas station that is literally the product. I think of it as like having a cow petting zoo in front of Micky-D's or a "Pick your Chick then come on back and we'll fried her up" sign in front of a Kentucky Fried Chicken. Well at least the Dino is dead. We can paint him up green, borrow a few "bones" to coast on by and support the local emperor in the process.
Add to this a funny though: In the Ozarks and Smokey Mountains there are a few restaurants that proudly let you point to the rainbow trout that you are about the eat. Healthy looking animals, I might add, ready for the fryer but time and fond memories play ticks on the mind. It has been a while since I was in either the Ozarks or the Smokey Mountains.
In truth the Man in Black is who really inspired this picture. Every time I passed my green friend on a ride out to Idaho I had Johnny's lyrics rattling around in my head.
Too cold to start a fire
I'm burning diesel, burning dinosaur bones
I'll take the river down to still water
And ride a pack of dogs
I'm gonna break
I'm gonna break my
I'm gonna break my rusty cage .....and run
